The success of YoMingo depends on effective implementation throughout a patient's maternity journey. One of the best ways to ensure patients engage with YoMingo and maximize its valuable content and videos is by using it at bedside. Many hospitals have found that offering YoMingo through tablets at bedside enhances patient education, boosts engagement, and helps meet Joint Commission standards.

Set Up YoMingo on Hospital Tablets

The most efficient way to use YoMingo at bedside is by creating a generic learner account for tablet access. This allows patients to easily access the YoMingo app without needing to log in or out of individual accounts. While patients won't have access to personal tools like the feeding log or diaper log, they can still view all educational content and videos. You can encourage patients to download the YoMingo app to their personal device before leaving the hospital.

Steps to Set Up YoMingo on Tablets:

1. Create or select an email address for the generic account.
Do not use an email tied to a YoMingo admin account. If you don’t have one, create a free Gmail account.

2. Create a learner account via the YoMingo Admin site:

  • Log in to the YoMingo Admin site
  • Go to the Manage Learners tab
  • Click the +ADD button
  • Enter a generic name (this will appear on the home screen), email, set the expiry to Unlimited, and select permissioned content
  • Click SAVE
An email invitation with a temporary password will be sent to the generic email address.

3. Download the YoMingo app on the tablets.

4. Log in to the YoMingo app using the credentials from the email.
Create a personal password and store it for staff use.

5. The app will remain logged in with the generic user and open automatically each time.
If there are long periods of inactivity or updates to the app, you may need to log in occasionally.

6. Ensure app updates are downloaded monthly, especially if the tablet doesn’t automatically update apps.
